WOLCHANSKY, Rosemary (nee Ionetz)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rosemary Wolchansky at the age of 82 years of age in Edmonton, Alberta.

Rosemary was born in Hairy Hill to Maria and Conrad Ionetz, the second youngest of 11 children.

She worked hard on the family farm until she moved to Edmonton as a young adult. She married William Wolchansky on July 17, 1976 and moved to MacKay Alberta where she continued working on the farm where she loved her animals, her garden, and cooking perogies and cabbage rolls in the kitchen.

She is survived by her daughter Jennifer, son-in-law Joel, and two granddaughters Sapphira (17) and Vienna (13). She is also survived by her sister Jeanette, and her brother Lawrence and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her mother and father, and her siblings: Dora, Helen, George, John, Kay, Sam, Mike, and Edward.

Due to COVID regulations, there will be a private burial with a celebration of life to follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the GRIT program. https://gritprogram.ca/

Jenny, Joel, Jeanette and family,
May the memories of Rose help you through your time of grief. Rose was our next door neighbour for many years.
She was a sweet and kind woman. Every year she remembered our Grandson’s birthday and would give them a card always signed “God Bless” We shall miss our “over the fence” conversations and the perogies and cabbage rolls that were often passed over the fence.

Rose was a wonderful person with a generous nature and a giving spirit. If anyone needed a helping hand, she was there to do what she could. She was an excellent cook and held dinner parties large and small. She was quiet and ever so humble, and always expressed appreciation for any kindness shown her. Rose was a caring person who deeply loved her family. We will miss her!
