WLADYKA,Robert “Bob” Victor

-

Born   – September 17th, 1930  – Watrous, Saskachewan

Passed Away  – Novemeber 25, 2021, – Stony Plain , Alberta

Bob (Robert Victor Wladyka) will be greatly missed by his loving wife Anne, children: Ron, Bev and Brian, as well as Ross  and his children, extended family and numerous friends and acquaintances.

Bob grew up in Watrous, Saskachewan along with 13 other siblings where he was a member of the Anglican Church.  Growing up in the 30’s wasn’t easy but as a youth he played hockey (mostly goalie) and baseball (mostly catcher), and moved to Edmonton in the early 50’s. He was also an avid curler. He started his career in the Edmonton Post Office which is where he met Anne, his soon to be lifelong wife and recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. They married on June 25th, 1955 in Enilda, Alberta. Bob became a lifelong member of AA on March 16th, 1978 and religiously celebrated his AA birthday every year thereafter. Bob worked as a letter carrier for 37 years and retired when he was 55 years old. Some of his favourite hobbies were CB Radio (call # ESKIMO-475), Ham Radio (call # VA6RVW), cribbage, bicycling and pool. After retirement Anne and Bob traveled south to California and Arizona, in the winter months, for 18 years. Bob was a very hard worker and through-out his life he generously helped family, friends and acquaintances with tasks; never late, always with a smile and never wanting anything in return.

Bob was a spiritual man and his life line was the Serenity Prayer: “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Salvation Army.
