Winnifred Grocott

Grocott, Winnifred (nee Keleher)
June 29, 1917 to October 17, 2016

It is with a deep sorrow and an expression of deep loss that our family announces the passing of Winnie on October 17, 2016 at the age of 99.

Winnie was an amazing and wonderful person. She was a beloved sister to Patrick Keleher and the dearest of aunt to Patrick’s children, Candace, Michael, Patricia, Kevin and their respective children. As well, she showered her love as a great aunt upon her numerous nieces and nephews. She had an un-bounding love that she freely gave – her wonderful gift.

In 2011 she was predeceased by the love of her life, Joseph Grocott, and now goes to join him.

A devout Roman Catholic, in her 99 year life and throughout her travels Winnie touched many with her grace, her kindness, her generosity of spirit and most of all her sincere affection and love. Those lucky to have had Winnie in their lives have been graced. She will be fondly remembered and so sorely missed.

She has left loved ones and extended family across England, Australia, New Zealand and Canada to mourn her passing.

Many thanks to all of her healthcare providers; they allowed Winnie to maintain her independence within the community.

Her Funeral Mass will  take place at St. Agnes Parish, 10826 62 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta on Thursday October 27, 2016 at 11:00 am with Reverend Father Joby Augustin officiating.

Verna Thompson

Pat and family, please accept my deepest sympathy. Winnie was a precious friend of ours for nearly 60 years and I will miss her forever. I know you all have many, many memories of her and I hope those memories will give you peace in the coming years. I think we can take some comfort in knowing she is once again with Joe and, therefore, happy.

Verna Thompson.
