WILLSON, Richard “Rick” Lee

With heavy hearts our family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father, Papa, brother and uncle on December 24, 2020 at the age of 64 to a very hard fought battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully with family by his side.

His memory will be forever cherished by his wife Lori of 37 years, son Bryce (Amy) Willson, daughter Kali Willson (Marc Thoben), son Brett (Jessica) Willson, grandchildren; Ellie, Anika, Oakley; a fourth grandchild on the way as well as his siblings Edwin “Ted” (Marliene) Willson, Joyce “Joy” (Mike) Anhorn and Terry (Sylvia) Willson; Sister-in-law Lenore (Rick) Guenette, Brother-in-law Trevor (Karen) Anderson, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Rick was predeceased by his parents Edwin and Beatrice Willson and father-in-law, Evert Anderson.

Rick had very strong family values and was always so proud of his kids and had so much love for his family especially his 3 grandchildren. He had an amazing sense of humour and always seemed to be scheming up some new idea. Rick had a passion for camping, golfing, hunting, photography and really anything to do with the outdoors. He was very involved within his community and spent many winters volunteering for minor hockey either coaching or refereeing. He was one of the hardest workers and was known for not being able to sit still for any length of time.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date, in Lieu of flowers the family asks that donation be made in honour of Rick to the the Canadian Cancer Society and/or Jump Start Canadian Tire.

Tribute wall - a place to share your memories and condolences

Rick,
Over 35+ years we have shared an abundance of precious memories such as camping, vacations, fishing, hunting, quadding, dice games, golfing, imitating a silly accent, or just hanging out by a campfire. There was never a shortage of laughs, as well as poking fun at one another from time to time.
Our bond was close and even though you were a brother in law to us, we always thought of you as our brother.

Thank you for including us on your life’s journey, we only wish it had been longer.
Our memories of you will stay close to our hearts always and above all else, we will miss you more than you will ever know.
Love Trevor and Karen
