William Shupenia

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved dad, brother, uncle and friend at the age of 87. He is predeceased by his loving wife Katherine (Kay) in 2005, parents Achtemiy and Domnika, infant sister Mary, brothers Mack, John and cousin John Rechlo. Bill is survived by children Brenda (Paul), Brian (Deborah), Rodney and sister Verna Hochachka, brothers Edward and Andrew. He is also survived by numerous brothers in-law, sisters in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

There was nothing that brought a bigger smile to Bill’s face than being surrounded by family and friends. Sitting around a dinner table enjoying the companionship of loved ones, conversation and a good meal seemed to bring him the most happiness. Bill was somewhat of a musician who was known to occasionally pick up an instrument and break out in song. He could step it up on a dance floor and did so until his final days. Fishing was a hobby that had him outdoors season round. Most of all, Bill was a family man. He cherished his wife, Kay and gave unconditional support to his children. Bill will always be loved deeply by his family. He will be missed.

Memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 17 at 1:00 pm at Richmond Park Evangelical Church, 9340 – 69 Ave, Edmonton, with luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute, 8440 – 112 Street, Edmonton, AB, T6G 2B7, or donate online to www.universityhospitalfoundation.ab.ca
