WESLOSKY, Raymond Lloyd

Raymond Lloyd Weslosky passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 10, 2021 at the age of 73.  Ray went to heaven to join his Lord and Saviour and hug his beautiful daughter again.  He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Sharon; his son, Sheldon (Charlene); 3 grandsons, Kyler, Axton and Ryden; siblings, Doris, Arlene (Peter) and Virginia (Peter); and many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.  He is predeceased by his parents Nick and Josephine, his daughter Sharlotte and brother-in-law Lawrence.

Ray was born on June 30, 1948 in Edmonton, AB.  He grew up on a farm West of Leduc spending many hours helping his Mom and Dad with farming and mechanics.  Ray became a master electrician and worked for many years in that field.  Ray and Sharon married in 1970 and celebrated 51 years together just this past June.  They raised two amazing children together: Sharlotte and Sheldon.  Ray loved all things electrical and designing and building everything from boats to campers to campgrounds.  He excelled at everything he put his mind to, and there were no limits on his endurance.  He always kept going and never gave up, in all that he did.  He could repair anything on the farm and keep it running for years.  His favorite thing was probably his lawn mower and he spent hours and hours mowing the lawn and driving that mower around the yard right up until he passed away.  For anyone that knows Ray, you will know that his yard was his pride and joy and he was always proud of it.  His love for Sharon, his children and his grandsons was evident in his smile even when he couldn’t express it in words anymore.  The liveliness of his grandsons always brought him joy.

We will miss all the little things, taking you for drives, sitting around the campfire, or just sitting beside you and watching YouTube videos you downloaded.  It’s these little things that turn out to be the big things in the end. So glad that you got one last spin around the yard with your Grandsons on the golf cart.

We hope there’s a nice John Deere up in heaven for you to drive and that there is plenty of grass to keep you busy!

Until we meet again…

Sharon and I met in Bible College, 1967-1970. And Ray was right along side her. What a beautiful blessing these two have been in my life all these years since then. We never lost touch with each other. Ray loved and cared so much for his family and in my mind, could do anything! We will meet again when the roll is called up yonder.

Our hearts are saddened by Ray’s passing but knowing he’s with his Lord and Savior and family is very comforting. Yes I’m sure he’s running a new solar JD Combine and JD tractor got there just in time for harvest.

Because of Ray (& Sharon) we got to see Leduc, and a little of Canada. I enjoyed getting Ray’s emails for years afterwards! It’s been a privilege to be a little part of the Weslosky from the bottom of the world. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all as you mourn and celebrate Ray’s life. Now safe in the arms of Jesus.

Keith and Ila Balkwill

Condolences to you, Sharon and family.I am sure you’ve missed him greatly but we have this hope to meet again

Ray and Sharon were wonderful friends when we Pastored in Leduc. We had camping trips as well as many great chats. He was always inventing or improving something with the idea of many people happy. He loved people and will be missed. He has left some wonderful memories and was a prince to know. We’ll meet him someday in Heaven!
