It is with heavy hearts and much love that the family of Bruce Weaver announces his passing on July 30, 2021.
Bruce was diagnosed with ALS ( Lou Gehrig’s Disease ) and despite the pain and suffering , he showed extreme courage and an overwhelming will to live. Bruce stayed strong until the end but passed peacefully away at home with his family by his side.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Weaver, his father Robert Weaver, and his children Shane Weaver ( Kayla Weaver), Elicia Weaver, Zachary Weaver, Jonathan Weaver and Warren George ( Kerri George). Also left behind with fondest memories of their grandfather, are his grandchildren Julian Weaver, Everett Weaver and Finley George. Also left to mourn are extended family ; sister in law Krista Walters( Frankie Clarke) , brother in law: Adam George( Vanessa George)and mother and father in law ; Ken and Ruth George, nieces Rachel Lourens( Dylan, Jacob , Caleb, Hannah), Jessica Weaver, Khloe Walters and Emma George, nephew Jaiden Walters.
He is predeceased by his mother Helen Weaver and brothers John Weaver and Gordon Weaver.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Bruce’s doctor, Dr. Rebekah Gilbert, the home care team in Fort Saskatchewan , especially Michelle for being there for us whenever we needed her and for just being an amazing person, your kindness will never be forgotten.
We also wanted to send out heartfelt thanks to the ALS Society of Alberta, without you, we would never have gotten through this, what you do for families with ALS is nothing short of miraculous. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you as well to the staff at the ALS clinic in Edmonton, who followed and helped us through this journey, your kindness will always be remembered.
A public visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Service Chapel, 9914-103 street, Fort Saskatchewan, AB.,on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 7-9 PM and Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 7-9 PM.
