WAYNE DALE LYON
1944 ~ 2019
It is with sadness that Karen and Mark Lyon announce Wayne’s passing at Salem Manor Nursing Home, Leduc, AB on August 27, 2019.
Wayne was born at the family farm in Quebec’s Eastern Townships on July 24, 1944. He signed up with the Canadian Armed Forces in July 1961 and retired with the rank of Sergeant in 1986 to Leduc, AB where he continued working with the military in quality assurance at Edmonton International Airport. He and Karen retired on December 28, 2005, their 40th wedding anniversary.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 53 years, Karen (nee Turner), his son Mark of Edmonton, and his sister Brenda of North Bay, ON, as well as friends and family across Canada.
According to Wayne’s final wishes, he has been cremated and his final resting place is in the columbarium at Leduc Cemetery. No services will be conducted.
Karen and Mark want to thank the caring staff of Salem Manor, as well as Dr. Alistair Waugh, for their care of Wayne.
