I just heard yesterday about the loss of Vonda. I am so sorry for your loss, and my deepest sympathies to the family. I cannot imagine the grief you must feel. I went to university with Vonda, and she was special. So beautiful, so kind, and just a wonderful warm personality who always had time for everyone, and someone I never remember being anything but happy. Far too young, the world is much lesser without her.

I was very saddened to learn of Vonda’s passing. I met Vonda on several occasions when Peter and the family came for a family visit in North Bay. Vonda radiated warmth and kindness. I was also impressed by her calmness and sense of fun. My deepest condolence to Peter and the Dunn family.

I was very saddened to learn about Vonda’s passing. I met Vonda a number of times when Peter and the kids would make a trip to North Bay to visit with family. I was always struck by Vonda’s kindness and warmth. She had a sense of calmness about her that I admired but also knew how to have fun. My condolences to you Peter and family during this sad time. Vonda and I were pregnant the same year in 1993, it was my first and her fourth. Our husbands have been great friends through North Bay Baseball. That year we all decided to holiday together in Las Vegas. Besides going head to head with her at the Buffet counters, I just couldn’t keep up with her any other time. I was always surprised to hear all the extra things her and Peter squeezed into their evenings long after Dan and I retired for the night. Due to busy lives and the distance between our homes we didn’t get to see as much of her and Pete as we would have liked but every time we did we were always welcomed with that trademark smile and we just carried on as if no time had passed. Our last visit was this June and we knew of her battle with cancer and wasn’t quite sure what we would see when the front door opened. Of course we were greeted with that huge smile and offered a drink. We were caught off guard and said no thanks we are fine. Vonda was going to have a drink anyway, and once again she didn’t let us get in the way …..of her making the most of each day.
I am thinking now of our lost opportunity to hold up a glass with this vibrant person one last time. May she Rest In Peace. Our deepest sympathy goes out to Peter, Alexandra, Greg and Georgia, as well as all those who’s life was made better by her being part of it.

It’s been many years since I’ve seen Vonda but I remember her as a bright and cheery person with a ready smile and a bit of mischief. My sincere condolences to her family and to the Easton family. Kia kaha.

Very sad. My condolences to the Dunn and Easton families.

A lot of memories came flooding back of Vonda back in our school days; the school bus everyday, 4-H, sports, being classmates etc. Also, our Dad’s shared machinery so we were always picking up and dropping off machinery at their house.
Vonda was fun and always seemed to be smiling.

Vonda was such a bright spark and lit up every room with her infectious smile and twinkle in her eyes. I enjoyed dragonboating with Vonda and Pete and hiking with her and some of her Beaumont friends. It is much too soon to say goodbye. She will be sorely missed but always remembered. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Vonda and your family. Chris and Murray.

Pete, Alexandra, Gregory, and Georgia, we were so shocked and saddened to hear of Vonda’s illness and we send our sincerest condolences to you all. Vonda was my first friend in Beaumont when we moved here back in 1991. One of my first outings was to the Beaumont Indoor Playground; whereby she immediately noticed I was new and did not know anybody. She was holding a baby (Gregory) and introduced herself to me. I asked her whose baby she was looking after since she was wearing blue jeans (non-stretchy) and had no belly at all. I was in disbelief that she was the mother of a 3 week old baby by the way she looked. We used to laugh about our first meeting and my disbelief time and time again. I will always remember her kind, caring, and outgoing personality.

My heart is very sad as I hear this news. Many memories of the times together at Wawota in her school years – 4-H, Xmas parties, and other school activities. Our sincere thoughts to all the family at this very sad time.

Alexandra, Greg, and Georgia, I am so sorry about the loss of your mom. I knew her for a long time; I babysat you guys a LONG time ago, then was in touch with her in her role as Lab tech at ESBCHS when I needed equipment or information for things that I was doing with my chemistry classes. She always had a smile on her face, and was super kind and helpful. She will be missed by many. Sending love and strength to you all – Katie Hiller (Zirk)

Throughout the years Vonda had been a real treasure at Beaumont Comp. I worked with her there for the past few years. Vonda was special, kind, smart, funny, classy, and respectable. I enjoyed our many light chats especially when we discovered we both bought furniture from “Bruce” at Sofaland! I will miss her. My prayers to you! Sincerely Carla Weisberg
