Gina (Virginia) McDougal Cohoe passed away peacefully at home on May 21, 2014. Born in Chicago, June 25, 1927 Gina moved to Canada at age 7 and for over 70 years of her life lived in Cochrane, Cremona and Sundre areas. She is survived by her brother Jack (Betty) Souther and children Sally (Rod), Bob (Carol) and Jean (Allan); 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren plus numerous nieces and nephews. Gina was known for her open door, coffee’s always on and cookie jar is always full policy. She will be remembered for her bronze sculptures that are in collections worldwide. Gina felt she had two gifts, horses and art so she started doing bronze sculptures using the subjects she knew best – rodeo and ranch. Horses were her companion and her teacher. Gina was a mentor to many barrel racers and aspiring artists. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends!
A Memorial Service to celebrate Gina’s life will be held Monday, June 23, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Cochrane Ranchhouse, 101 RancheHouse Road, Cochrane AB.
