Victor Graham Spurrell


Mr. Victor Spurrell passed away quietly on Monday, March 14, 2016 after a short illness. Victor was born on July 23, 1933 to parents, Thomas and Stella in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Victor will be lovingly remembered by his companion, Lynda Utri; two daughters, Nancy Turnbull and Deborah (Leonard) Spurrell – Taylor; three sons, Brent (Danielle), Paul (Joan) and Eric (Kelly); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and sister, Stella (Al) Meuller. Also left with wonderful memories of Victor are many extended family and great friends. Victor was predeceased by his wife, Gladys and parents, Thomas and Stella.
For those who desire, memorial contributions in Victor’s name may be made directly to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #269, 5204 51 Avenue, Drayton Valley, Alberta T7A 1S2 or to Drayton Valley Health Services Foundation – CT4DV, 4550 Madsen Avenue, Drayton Valley, Alberta T7A 1N8.

“Down every road there’s always one more city”. I will never forget the nights Dad came through the door singing his “drinking song”. That and a quote he used from the late Charlie Bella…. “There’s no sense being poor and
looking poor!” Dad would say this as he dressed up for a special occasion or when he saw his best friend Ray Silke pull up in his Vette or his Cadi. We’ll all miss you Dad. I have a thousand stories and memories to share but I’m not up to posting them yet. Instead. I think I will write a book. “Cheers Dad!”

So MA y memories with my grandfather he inspired me and taught me so much in life. Him and grandma taught me skip Bo and I beat him and he said no way rematch I think you cheated we laughed so hard and that was the best thing about him was his smile and laugh he will be forever missed. Xo
