Love, (Sadie) Verna



Verna Love of Calgary, formerly of Edmonton Alberta, passed away peacefully at the Whitehorn Village Residence on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the age of 92. Verna was born and raised on the family dairy farm near Leduc, and went on to reside in Rochester, NY, Edmonton, Slocan B.C. and finally in Calgary.

Verna was pre-deceased by her husband, friend and soul-mate, David Love in 1997. During their retirement years, Verna and Dave enjoyed golf, gardening, fishing and making many holiday trips to visit their family and friends.

Verna will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her children: Paul (Cheryl), Chrystal (Allan); step-children: Shirley (Mike), Lance (Sheila), Brian (Val); by her grandchildren: Peter (Tanis), Jennifer (Craig), Athena (Erik), Grant (Emily), Megan, Nadine (Don), Derek (Monique), Steve (Christine), Brent (Brandy), Adam (Amber), and four great grandchildren: Kurt, Miles, Lincoln and Isola.

Verna is survived by her sister Margaret; sister-in-law Merle, and predeceased by her siblings: Ethel, Rueben, Milbert, Joe, Leona, and Lawrence.

Many thanks to the staff and friends at Whitehorn Village who helped to make Verna’s move to Calgary memorable and enjoyable. A special thanks to the nursing staff who assisted and supported Verna during her last few weeks in this life.

We invite family and friends to remember Verna and Celebrate her Life at West Meadows Baptist Church, 9333-199 Street, Edmonton on Monday, December 5, 2016 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) at, In Memory.
