Trudy passed away peacefully as the sun rose on Saturday, May 23, 2015 with Ray at her side.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Ray Janke; four daughters: Dawn Avotins, Gina Fedyck, Jamie Johnson, and Lisa Fedyck (Frank Hochel); six grandchildren: Shawn (Vim), Micheal, Rayna, Malorie, Carly, and Frank Levi; and one great-grandson, Max. Trudy is also survived by one sister, Mickey (Paul) Doucette of Port Alberni, B.C. and brothers, Jack (Cathy) Barber and Doug Barber of Hinton, AB, as well as many nieces and nephews. Trudy was predeceased by her first husband, Jim Fedyck; granddaughter, Tiffany; parents, Marie Barber and William Gillies; parents-in-law, Ernie and Hedy Janke; sister and brother-in-law, Flo and Bob Dickson; and brothers: Larry Gillies, Bill Gillies, and Keith Barber.
Trudy was born on January 6, 1938 in Dauphin, MB to William and Marie Gillies. She received her schooling in St. Rose du Lac, Dauphin, and Winnipeg. Trudy and Jim Fedyck were married in 1958 and had four daughters: Dawn, Gina, Jamie, and Lisa. After Jim’s passing in 1973, Trudy and the girls relocated to Alberta to be closer to family. Trudy and Ray met in Lethbridge and were married on July 4, 1980. They lived in Lethbridge, Grande Prairie, Edmonton, St. Albert, Fort McMurray, and Kindersley, SK as Ray relocated with Zellers numerous times. They made many friends along the way. Trudy and Ray finally moved back to Edmonton after Ray retired in 2010.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Hosanna Lutheran Church, 9009-163 Street, Edmonton, AB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation, Hosanna Lutheran Church, or a charity of one’s choice.
