TROUTH, Dorothea Anna (nee Knudtson)

On September 12, 2022, Dorothea, formerly of Calgary, passed away in Edmonton, age 93 years.

Dee will forever be remembered by her stepdaughter, Roxann Trouth; grandchildren, Melissa Trouth, Megan McNairn, Trisha Clough, Kyle French; great grandchildren Oliver Hilderley, Madalynn and Mallory Clough, Kal and Clara French. Auntie Dodie’s memory will be cherished by her nieces Lorrie Meissner, Barbara Borden, Dale Gould, Drina Walsh, Dixie Link, Debra Butchler, and their families, and by her cousin Gary (Gisele) Follensbee who helped to support her in her later years.

Dorothea was predeceased by her husband, Norman, her brothers Bud and Len Knudtson, her stepson Norman (Lee), grandsons Tyler Trouth, Fraser McNairn, and her nephew Dean Knudtson.

Dee loved a good party and entertained friends and family often. She travelled extensively, to six continents, over the course of her life, making friends wherever she went. As a young woman, Dee was thrilled to be in London for the Queen’s coronation. Dorothea loved to laugh, and laughed often, right up to the end. Many people succumbed to her charm, including her caregivers.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at St. Thomas Health Centre who cared so lovingly for Dee during her time there.

Dee will be laid to rest with her husband at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens, Calgary.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothea’s name may be made directly to the Canadian Wildlife Federation or to Doctors Without Borders.
