It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend Timothy (Tim) Stewart Jones, age 57, of Edmonton, AB.
Tim was diagnosed with cancer on December 25, 2017. Tim’s reaction to the prognosis was a testament to his true nature, as he addressed the illness with positivity and courage. His incredible attitude shone through to everyone who passed through his door, and his room was always full of family and friends who adored him. Tim never complained and continually kept the people around him laughing and smiling. He was a cherished advice-giver who was admired and loved by all.
Tim was born in Melville, SK on March 3, 1960 to Nell (Miller) and Lally Jones. He grew up in a home filled with love, fun, and laughter with his three siblings, Gary (Vivian) Jones of Calgary AB, Sharon (Leo) Parker of Melville SK, and Greg Jones of Ardmore, PA, USA. Tim, the youngest (and tallest!), was the biggest prankster of them all. His witty sense of humor fostered a cheerful environment and will be fondly remembered by all the people who were fortunate to have been in his company. In the words of his nephew, “We always knew we were in for a fun time when Uncle Tim was around.”
Tim’s unwavering commitment and love for his wife Cindy, and daughter, Brittany was steadfast and genuine. This love was extended to his many friends and family. The welcome mat was always on the doorstep where everyone was welcomed with his big bear hug and warm smile.
The family spent many hours in the dog park with their golden retriever and enjoyed lengthy discussions about business, the stock market and other worldly events.
Tim spent over 30 years in the financial industry, of which half were spent with Servus Credit Union. Tim was the first employee of the estate department at Servus and was instrumental in its development to its current state.
The loss of Tim is mourned by his large family, friends and associates at Servus, as well as his former colleagues within the financial industry.
A memorial service will be held at Serenity Funeral Service North Chapel (Ph. 780 477 7500) located at 10129 Princess Elizabeth Ave, Edmonton on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 2:00 PM.
