It is with heavy hearts that the family of Tom Wharton announces his passing on January 1, 2014 at the age of 75 years. “I have slipped the surly bonds of earth and touched the face of God.”
Tom will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Anne; children: Hilary (Pat) Hrudko, Tom Jr. (Sharon) Wharton, David (Sherry) Wharton, Carol (Adnan) Darr; grandchildren: Mary, Rachel, Rebecca, Conor, Reuven, Ronan, Enna, Jasmine, Kaleb; sisters Ann (Eric) Reich, Cathy Wharton; Aunt Mary Wild and numerous extended family members.
Tom is predeceased by his parents Thomas and Christine; brothers Pat and John.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 6, 2014 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm at Serenity Funeral Service, 5311-91 Street NW, Edmonton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 11:00 am with reception and eulogy to follow at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 210 Haddow Close NW, Edmonton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Cross Cancer Institute c/o Alberta Cancer Foundation.

I wish I had a chance to talk to Tom one more time I called Hilary 2 days ago and I was told that Tom had pass away.
I can only say that TOM was the nicest boss I ever had.
