Thomas Gushattey

With an exceptional lifetime of memories behind him, Tom Gushattey passed away peacefully in his sleep at the dignified age of 90 years.

Tom was predeceased by wife Pearl and sisters; Sanda, Lena and Helen. He is survived by his brother Joe (June), and his children Melvin (Jean), Sylvia (Rene) and Janis (Ken). Tom is also survived by grandchildren; Dena (Charles), Mark, Jared, Ryan, Tara and Alexandria, and great grandchildren; Tye and Calla. Tom leaves behind second wife Helen, and children Douglas (Phyllis), David (Lorraine), and Joanna (Myles) and grandchildren Thomas, Landon, Alex, Megan, Chelsey and Adam.

Gido took great pride in his relationship with all 14 grandchildren and great grandchildren, attending multiple hockey games, dance performances, and was a great source of joy and laughter to his family.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the I-care staff at the University of Alberta Hospital and the Citadel Care Centre for their compassion and care. Memorial donations in Tom’s honour can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Mazankoswki Alberta Heart Institute.

Funeral service for Tom will be held Thursday, August 10th 2017 at 10:00 am,

St. John Cathedral 10951 107 St NW, Edmonton, AB, with Reverend Semotiuk officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, 13819 82 St NW, Edmonton, AB.
