SWAYZE, Vivian Barbara

Vivian Barbara (nee Halisky) Swayze, 89, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2022 in Edmonton, Alberta.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Bud, of 68+ years, five children: Mike (Kathi), Cheryl (Cor) Mulder, Larry (Dianne), Darren, and Sheldon (Stacy); 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brothers, Peter and George; sister, Celia; along with many other family and friends.
Vivian was an amazing gardener and spent many hours tending to her flowers and vegetables. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading, always having numerous books available at the ready. Many meals she prepared were enjoyed greatly at family get togethers through the years.
Vivian faithfully served alongside her husband, Bud, for many years with Prison Fellowship Canada. Inmates loved mom’s interaction with them as a kind, caring and gentle person.
Along with raising a family, Vivian worked many years in various occupations including Tom-Boy, IGA, CIBC, and Edmonton Public Schools.
For spiritual edification, Vivian and husband Bud attended Highlands Baptist Church for many years.
Vivian was a grateful person who loved deeply and had such a genuine way of always making one feel like they were important and valued. Her sense of humour was infectious and engaging and a very special part of her. We were all deeply impacted by Vivian’s life and although we miss her greatly, we rejoice that she is celebrating with her Savior.
A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Serenity Funeral Service – North Central Chapel, 10129 Princess Elizabeth Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta.
Interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 16102 Fort Road NW, Edmonton, Alberta.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Prison Fellowship Canada.

My dear mama will always be remembered and greatly missed. The world has a hole in it but the Lord chose to take her home and I’m so happy for her. I still hear her voice and feel the warmth and love. Ride those white horses mom! you earned it.
