Hansen, Svend Aage
January 14, 1932 – October 6, 2015

The Lord called Svend home on the 6th of October, 2015 at the age of 83 years.

Svend was born in Calgary, Alberta where he spent his first years with his brothers and parents. The family moved to Edmonton where Svend made his home and met the love of his life, Clarice They were married in 1955 celebrating 60 years of marriage in August. Svend’s career was in the field of education as teacher, principal, consultant, and school trustee with Edmonton Public Schools. He enjoyed spending time with family at special occasions, the lake, and sporting events. His family are saddened by their loss, but know that he is resting with the Lord, Our Saviour.

Svend is survived by his wife of 60 years, Clarice; four children Sherri and Wayne, Brenda, Marsha and Dave, and Ken and Rosanna; Grandchildren Vanessa and Cory, Daryl and Larissa, Kristy and Jeff, Tamara, Erik, Matthew, Cassandra, Katrina, Taylor, Simon, Melanie, and Melissa; Great-grandchildren Kaitlyn, Hadley, Sierra, Nikolette, Connor, Ryken, Teryn, James, Ayvrielle, Joshua, and many extended family and friends.

Many thanks to the wonderful and compassionate staff on Unit 43 at Grey Nuns Community Hospital.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Calvary Lutheran Church (10815 – 76 Avenue) at 11:00 am. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Youth Empowerment and Support Services (YESS), Edmonton Public Schools Foundation, or a charity of choice.
