OLSEN, SUSAN E.
Born September 13, 1955, Susan passed away peacefully on June 4, 2014 after a brave but unfair battle to suppress a brain tumour. Predeceased by her father, Robert Henderson, in-laws Clare and Peggy Olsen and nephew Sean Olsen. Susan is survived by her mother Barbara Henderson, beloved husband Murray Olsen; children: Carmen, Kevin, Fraser and Trevor Olsen; siblings: John (Margot) Henderson, Annette (Jim) McClelland and Rob (Judy) Henderson, sister- in law Marilyn Olsen, cherished nieces and nephews Lisa Henderson, Brett and Cam McClelland, Scott, Meg and Martha Henderson and the legion of young adults she nourished with her spirit and enthusiasm and the recreational programmes she worked tirelessly to organize for Freestyle Skiing and the Argentia Sailing School.
Susan also had a long and nomadic career as a physiotherapist and will be missed by her many colleagues and by the friends and neighbors at Kapasawin Beach where she was raised and at Argentia Beach where she raised her family and by the bridge club, the book club, the scrabble challengers, the Crestwood Curling Club, the Pigeon Lake Golf Club, the Yoga loft and Santa’s Anonymous.
Susan’s family and friends are forever grateful for the compassionate care given on Wards 30 and 40 at the Cross and Wards 4C and 6Y at the General.
Murray and the children are forever grateful for the tsunami of love which has washed over us in recent months, the hours that were spent by close friends comforting and assisting Susan in hospital, the cards and letters, the meals, the gifts, the calls, the flowers and especially the meals.
