Susan Buhler, of Edmonton Alberta, was peacefully ushered into the presence of the Lord, November 23, 2014 after lengthy lung and heart complications.
She was was born December 24th, 1938 (merry Christmas!) to William and Margaret (Hamm) Fehr. She grew up and went to school in the Blumenthal area. On July 19, 1958 she married Harry Buhler, son of Jacob and Helen Buhler.
In 1967 the family moved from Saskatoon to Edmonton. In 1974 they moved to a large farm house in the Ellerslie area.
Susan was wonderful homemaker and thoroughly enjoyed all the many challenges of managing a household. Baking was one of her passions, and in particular baking buns, cinnamon buns and had a large repertoire using saskatoon berries. Gardening was another passion and for a number of years she worked at Virginia Park Greenhouse.
She spent innumerable hours reading or telling bedtime stories to her children and later to her grandkids. She was less popular however, when it came time for household chores. Regardless of the complaints, whining and near escapes, she was patient, firm and determined to instil a solid work ethic into her children.
Susan was also involved with their church where she taught sunday school, sang in the choir and helped in the kitchen. She so enjoyed the regular ladies bible studies and made a habit of regularly reading her bible at home.
Susan leaves to mourn her husband Harry, her children; Debbie Dorn (Len) and their children Kevin and Rob (Amy) and their children Henry and Isabella Dorn;Jeanette Buhler and her children Ken and Scott Nicol; Conrad (Shelagh) Buhler and their children Allie and Leah Buhler.
Susan was predeceased by her parents Margaret and William Fehr, her brothers Phil and Mike Fehr.
In lieu of flowers, it is Susan’s wish that donations be made directly to Samaritan’s Purse or Ellerslie Baptist Church.
