STUMBORG (nee Weixl), Margaret Evelyn

July 15, 1924 – May 16, 2022

Margaret passed after living 97.5 purposeful, faith filled years. She was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan July 15, 1924. She is predeceased by Jerome J. Stumborg, her parents Alexander and Pauline Weixl (nee Sereda), her sister Gloria Bruce and her brother Donald Daniel, and grandson Christopher Durante, and son in law Raymond Tellier. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Gloria Parks (nee Stumborg-Tellier) (James), son Donald Daryl (Val), daughters Laurie Ellen Rutherford (nee Stumborg) (Ian) and Deborah Ann Durante (nee Stumborg) (Frank). In addition, Margaret was also loved and treasured by her 13 grandchildren (Andrew, Gabriel, Alicia, Mathew, Blaine, Alexandra, Robert, William, Mackenzie, Marcus, Gregory, and Anna-Marie and 16 great-grandchildren.
Margaret’s goal was to keep busy raising her thriving family and being an active member of the Catholic Women’s League of St. John the Evangelist parish. In addition, she ran twice as Alderman in Ward 3 of the City of Edmonton and served on the Board planning the Stollery Children’s Hospital. These were moments of great pride for Margaret.
The Funeral Service is planned for June 15, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the St, John Bosco Catholic Church 13503 – 40 St. NW, Edmonton. Reception to follow. Private family Internment of the ashes will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery.
