It is with great sadness and much love that we say goodbye to our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother Marie, who passed away peacefully on March 25, 2022 at the age of 95 years.

Marie has now reunited with her parents, sister and five brothers, husband Tony, son Willis, infant daughter Diane, great grandson Tyson and great granddaughter Kailyn.

Marie is lovingly remembered by her daughter Sylvia (Wayne), daughter in law Marge, granddaughters Shauna, Jodi and Tina, grandson Warren, two great granddaughters, one great grandson, one great great grandson three great great granddaughters, one brother, one sister, and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

Always one to stand out from the crowd, Marie was known for her occasional, endearing stubbornness and also her love for pranks.

Marie will be remembered for her gardening and canning. Marie loved the sun and mountains, travel was always important to her and encouraged family to embrace traveling and to “do it while you can!”. Marie was also masterful at sewing and crocheting; gifting her doilies and linens to the women in her life.

Marie was an excellent hostess always preparing thoughtful large home cooked meals for her family.

She always offered candy as her visitors were leaving.

As per Marie’s wishes there will be no funeral.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a private family celebration of life in late April.

Tribute wall - a place to share your memories and condolences

To Marie’s family and friends,
We are sending our condolences to each of you. We are sad that Marie is no longer here with us.
Marie lived in the same unit as my mother Natalie at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre. She was my mother’s best friend and tablemate there.
When I visit from Calgary, I always found Marie to be a kind woman with the nicest smile.
Sometimes if Marie was not having a good day, we would give her some treats. We hope that would have been okay with you. It would help bring her smile back.
You say she had a love for pranks. Sometimes I noticed Marie’s mischievous side in her smile. So, when funny things happen, I think Marie will still be playing pranks on you!
Our thoughts are with you and we will always remember Marie!

When ever I’m making hay on the farm, I remember when they would come to visit. Dad would always shut down the tractor and make time to visit. Great People!
