I worked with Leigh as a Duty Officer in the 90’s he was full of life and always ready to work and go. But, he was always ready to listen and he cared about others. I will remember him for so many good attributes and what he brought to policing.

Chester Badach (Jr)

Growing up, it was always an exciting time when Leighton showed up on hunting and fishing trips. His police stories where always humorous part of every time we met. I remember a time when me and Ron were “babysat” by Leighton on the banks of the Athabasca River. Wee were tied up by the wrists together to a tree for hours. All in good fun.
Leighton was my childhood superhero. He was an influential person in my life. Some of his stories were so far beyond belief that I had to find out for myself! For that reason, I can say with 100% certainty, I bscame a police officer. And I was right, some of his stories were waaaay out there….but some were very true.

Heartfelt condolences to the Stewart family!!

To Shirley and family. Iam so sorry for you and your family. He was a man well respected to all that knew him. Had a sense of humore that brought chuckles in any room. He spoke his mind no mater where he was. A straight up kinda guy the world needs more of. He was very kind to his family friends and first to help out when help was needed. His life story is deep in our hearts as we move forward and learn from him.
