Stephen John Moss

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Stephen John Moss of Edmonton, AB on June 16, 2019 at the age of 50. After a brave battle with glioblastoma, Stephen passed away peacefully with his family by his side.

Stephen is survived by his wife Susan Wilkins Moss and their children Thea Sophie and Jaxon James. Also mourning this loss are his brothers: Terry, Michael, Tim, Fred, Mark, Joseph, his sisters: Patricia, Susan, Barbara, Victoria, his large extended family including 22 nieces and nephews and more friends than can be counted.

Stephen was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Sophie and his brothers Mervin and Jim.

The youngest of 13 children, Stephen was born and raised in Edmonton, growing up in the Capilano area. He loved to play, watch, and coach sports. He loved music (especially disco) and always had it playing in the background. Stephen was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and selfless friend. His sense of humour and positive outlook were infectious. His generosity and loyalty admired. Stephen was happiest when surrounded by family and friends and of course, when spending time with his children.

Our loss is tremendous, but Stephen made certain to leave us all with countless treasured memories to lovingly remember him by.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the caring staff at the Cross Cancer Institute and the Grey Nuns Palliative Care Unit.

A private celebration of life to be held at a future date.

In honour of Stephen’s wishes, memorial contributions may be made to the Winnifred Stewart Association
11130 131 Street Edmonton, AB T5M 1C1, in support of the Joey’s Home Trust.

I met Steve many years ago while playing hockey. He always had a good sense of humor and loved the game and was really good . I haven’t seen him in a number of years but I was informed of his passing by a friend of mine. It’s really to bad that the good ones are taken before their time is due.

I knew Stephen when he was a student of mine at St. Gabriel Junior High School in Edmonton, On two occassions he drove with me to Toronto on my journey across the country to my home in New Brunswick. He was a wonderful kid, full of life and fun. It was a pleasure to know him as a young person and I have many fond memories of him from those days as a student and our long drives to bring him to visit his family in the Toronto area.
