It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Steve Sribney our beloved husband, father, and grandfather on Wednesday April 26, 2017.
Steve was born on January 9, 1924 and grew up in Landonville on the family farm. He married Helen Baranowski in June 1950 and eventually took over the farm on which he and Helen raised six children. Steve’s early years focused on farming and raising the family. When the children left home Steve and Helen enjoyed travelling and spending their winters in Yuma, Arizona. Steve especially enjoyed floor shuffle boarding, woodworking, fishing, playing cards and dancing. Steve and Helen retired off the farm in 1993 and moved to St. Paul where they spent the next 17 years. Six years ago, they moved to Edmonton where they continued to enjoy their lives together. Steve will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor, his interest in life and his love for his family.
Steve is survived by his loving wife Helen; six children Larry, Lois (Peter), Brian (Julie), Beatrice (Larry), Daniel, Michael; grandchildren Elise, Steen, Mark, Lisa, Evan, Larissa, Stefanie, Grayson, Josh; great-grandchildren Oscar, Ella, Hugo, Paloma and his brother Emil.
Steve was predeceased by his parents John and Tekla; his sisters Pearl and Tilley and his brothers Mike, Walter and John.
A Memorial Service for Steve will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Touchmark at Wedgewood, 18333 Lessard Road, Edmonton.
