STEIN, Arlene Jean

It is with great sadness we share the passing of Arlene on January 4, 2019 at the age of 82 years.

Arlene was born in Olds, AB to parents David and Anne Dunlop.  She grew up in Wetaskiwin, AB where she met and married her husband Harold, after which they moved to Thorsby.  Arlene was very involved in the community while raising their 4 children.  Later on, Arlene enjoyed her time working at a number of grocery stores where it allowed her to stay active and socialize with the many friends she had made over the years.  In 2013, Arlene moved to Leduc until her time of passing.

Arlene will be remembered as a very warm, gentle, caring and kind-hearted mom, grandmother and friend to those who had the pleasure of knowing her.  Her home was always welcoming and known to be the gathering point for many parties/social events due to the wonderful meals enjoyed by many.  She appreciated a good laugh and will also be remembered for her witty and subtle sense of humour.

Arlene was predeceased by her husband Harold (1982) and daughter Susan (2018), along with sister Veana (Lionel) Lanz and brother Gordie Dunlop.

Arlene will be missed and forever remembered by her loving children including Doug (Arlene) and children Kyla and Alexa; Terry (Tracy) and children Colby and Kiera; Barbara (Ken) and children Brandon and Bria; (son-in-law Randy) and daughter Courtney; sister Marge (Ollie) Ollila and sister-in-law Ivie Dunlop.

The family is very appreciative and would like to thank Dr. Christopher Lee and the staff at Leduc Community Hospital for their caring and compassionate ways.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leduc Community Hospital Foundation.

In respecting Arlene’s wishes, a private family memorial will be held.
