It is with profound sadness and with hope in the resurrection that the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception announce the death of Sister Ada Toner on July 30, 2017.
She lived 81 years as a Sister of Charity and was involved in Ministry in five provinces: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia.
Sister Ada is survived by the members of her religious community as well as nieces, nephews and many, many friends with special mention of those in Fort Saskatchewan, AB where she resided for the last 15 years.
She will be fondly remembered for her deep faith, keen wit, her love of life and her love of friends and for creating a world full of precious memories. She liked to name the events in her life journey as: “Moving Experiences and Trigger Encounters”.
A Prayer Vigil will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Angels Parish, Fort Saskatchewan, AB on Monday, August 7, 2017 at 7 p.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 11 am with Rev. Dean Dowle as Celebrant. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Lamoureux, AB.
