Our deepest thanks extend to the healthcare teams of the CHOICE Program at the Good Samaritan Place and at the Dr. Gerald Zetter Centre, and the many caregivers along the way. A very special thanks to Dr. Catherine Otto.

A Celebration of Ewald’s life will occur at a later date. Ewald will be laid to rest at South Haven Cemetery.

Donations may be made in Ewald’s name to the CHOICE Program, the Alzheimer’s Society, or a charity of your choice.

Sending my heartfelt condolences to the Spies family as I’m sure there is a big void felt by all. Ewald was like a loving second father to me for many years, and became Grandpa to my children. He was a wonderful man and I will miss him . Big hug to Violet.

I worked at Western Star Trucks i n the office and knew Ewald quite well as he worked in the shop. He was always very friendly and easy to get along with. Unfortunately I hadn’t seen him in quite some time. I don’t remember if he retired before me, but I retired in September, 2013
