Russ, a man of generosity, kindness, positivity and caring for all. Always that little grin and open heart , and always an open door for Vickie’s perfect preparation of food at any time . We have many special memories of Russ, about many things, but especially the farm, the many visits, the many chuckles together and Russ always had things in order . We will miss him and never forget. Our thoughts are with you Vickie, and the Sloboda family , knowing ” that special spot” at the table will be missed. Our sympathies to all

My Uncle Russell holds a special place in my heart — he’s the one that would drag us cousins around to see the bull & count the cows on the stone boat (usually to get us out of trouble); the farm is where I learned to ride bareback (thank you Chris & Victor); and one of my favorite memories to this day is chicken-killing time (I’m not kidding about this one). Uncle Russell’s bark was worse than his bite, and he was pretty good at keeping us busy in the chicken coop & the hay barn while Aunt Vicky would spoil us later with her unbelievable cinnamon buns. Uncle – it was SO GREAT to see you & Aunty Vicky the summer of 2019 @ Aunty Olga’s. I pray that God welcomes you home with open arms, and He sends his angels of peace & his healing touch to my Aunt Vicky and cousins. Lots of love to you all — Tracy Sloboda DeTuerk

So many memories of great heart sharing chats about the Lord Russ loved so much. Both Russ and Vickie were always warmly hospitable at breakfast, lunch or dinner ,with lots of coffee plus Vickie’s goodies any time of the day. Such role models of hospitality for us all.
My heart is with the family in love and praying.
