I literally just found out today. My heart is broken that I didn’t know sooner. I wish Shirley, I had a chance to tell you just how special you were for me. I’m so sorry Greg , Sarah and Family. I thought we would see each other again so I never tried rushing it with all going on. I loved you Shirley. You will be sorely missed my friend. I’m so crushed.

Shirley was truly an incredible woman. She was the mother to my closest friend Sarah, and Shirley really became my second mother. Her infectious laughter will be missed. She always had the biggest smile on her face and could always put you in a good mood. Thank you Shirley for being a part of my life. I miss you so much. Condolences to you Greg and Sarah

My friend Shirley was a kind, generous and wonderful woman. She had the best laugh ever

At last year’s Grey Cup party, I put down my snack bowl so I could check something in the kitchen. I had been munching on that party mix that comes in a blue bag

My favourite part of that mix is the cheesies. When I returned to my seat, Shirley was holding my bowl, and her mouth was full. After swallowing she said, ‘Hey, Anne, don’t you eat cheesies?’

When I informed her they are my faves, she apologized between bouts of her incredible laugh.

We’ll raise a toast to you at Grey Cup this year, gf. Miss you and love you always
