As the Membership Chair for the National Association of Federal Retirees I worked with Shirley on a regular basis as she was one of our volunteers. She assisted us by phoning our members to let them know about upcoming members meetings.
She will be missed by those who received her calls and had regular chats with her.

Janice, Alain, Cody & Kassy – Dwayne, Natasha, Alex & Isabella:
My 3 girls and I have so many fond memories of “Mrs. Sorobey”! She was a warm, loving, happy and caring woman. She always took the time to chat – and she would brighten up any conversation. We hope you all take comfort in your many happy memories of your mother/grandmother.

I was so saddened to hear of Shirley’s passing.

Whether I encountered her at church, at the “Y” or elsewhere in the community she always made time for a friendly chat. I always enjoyed curling against her at the Balmoral Club.

I am out of the country and will not be able to attend her service, but my thoughts are with her family at this time.

I met Shirley 3 years ago at the Shamrock Curling Club. I was a brand new curler at that time. I was fortunate to be on Shirley’s team for a full curling season, during that time. In that time I got to know Shirley some. She was very warm, friendly, supportive and patient as I learned the “ropes”. I enjoyed our coffee time after each game. I will miss her welcoming smile and kind heart. Love and blessings to Shirley’s family and at this time.

On behalf of all the ladies who curled with Shirley over the years at the Shamrock Curling Club, Tuesday Morning Ladies, we wish to extend our sympathies to Shirley’s family. She was a great lady and well loved. She loved the curling and the friendships and the coffee and chitchat after the games. She will be missed at the club – cherish your memories and again our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

We send sympathy to her whole family. I am sorry that I will not be able to attend the funeral because I will be out of town.

Shirley was a wonderful, happy, strong and kind lady. We met at Greenfield School in 1992 when I began teaching there. Shirley was a great support for me. After her retirement, it was always nice to see her pop into the school for special events. Cherish your memories of a wonderful mom. My sympathies, Claudette
