Shirley passed away December 1, 2018 at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. She is finally free of all pain she has had to endure for so many years.
She leaves behind her sister Sharon (Doug) Wallis; her brother Stan (Ellen) Howrish, her nephews Marcel (Colette) Howrish, Steven (Todd) Howrish and her niece Cheryl (Phil) Donoghue from England.
She also leaves behind her precious dog Teddy who played a large and enjoyable part of her life.
She was predeceased by her mother Mary; father John; and her sister Betty.
Shirley was born on November 15 alongside her twin sister Sharon, much to the surprise of their parents John and Mary Howrish. She lived on the farm in Holden, AB. After completing high school, Shirley moved to Edmonton to pursue a secretarial career. She worked with law firms, U of A in the faculty of pharmacy, for a pharmaceutical company and other companies. She was well liked and was admired for her skills and dedication. She retired at the age of 60 and enjoyed all the free time to work on her hobbies including petit point, cross stitch, knitting, crocheting, riding her horse Penelope, watching cooking shows, curling and Oiler games on tv. She also enjoyed travelling with her sister to Europe, England, Hawaii and Mexico. They shared many great memories.
Shirley cared very much for her family and was especially close to her sister Sharon with whom she shared a special bond. She also enjoyed all her friends, always keeping in touch and always willing to listen and give practical advice when asked.
As per her wishes there will not be a funeral service.
We ask that you remember Shirley in your hearts and prayers.
