Sheila Rosemarie Williamson

-

On Friday, December 1, 2017 Sheila Williamson of Edmonton passed away at the age of 87. A beloved Wife (husband, Nicholas), Mother to Gail (Tim), Wendy (Chris), Maxine (Frank), Janine (Josh) and Grandmother to Maya, Shaunte, Natalie, Justin and Liam.

Her family was “everything to her”. She was just a phone call away from her “girls” in Atlanta, Georgia, Montreal, Quebec, Maui, Hawaii: “how do I prepare a ham” or “how do I make a bread pudding”. Sheila also worked as a Librarian at McGill University and at the U of A.

A warm, generous and independent spirit she touched all who knew her. Cancer at 85 years was a surprise, but with a typical “I can beat it” attitude, she joined with all of her Doctors, Nurses and Medical Staff at the Cross Cancer Institute to fight it. Sheila’s family would like to express their gratitude to all at the Cross Cancer Institute, her General Physician, her many Medical Caregivers (Alberta Health Services – Home Care) for their compassionate, dignified care.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Sheila’s Life will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, at California Casa, 2420 – 108th Street, Edmonton.

In lieu of flowers, should you choose, donations may be made to the organization of your choice.
