It is with heartfelt sadness and fond memories that the family of Darren Glenn Shabada announce his passing at age 52, with his family by his side.
He is survived by his mother Hannelore Shabada (nee Denkhaus) and by his siblings, nieces and nephews: Laura Karen Shabada and Rebecca, Greg; Peter Shabada (Susan) and Nicole, Rachel, Libby; Michael Shabada (Theresa) and Andrea (Ryan) Pirie, Ryan Shabada; Stan (Kathey) and Samantha, Kyle, Steven; and by his great-nephews Taylor Pirie, Eric Pirie and Oliver Shabada. He was predeceased by his father, William Shabada.
Darren was a caring and helpful son, brother, uncle and friend to all that took interest. His greatest love was his family followed closely by his teddy bear and his passion for music and dancing. He made many friends through his extended families at the Duggan Group Home where he lived for 22 years until he became ill in 2015 and received more intensive care at the Fountain Lake Group Home.
He was a ladies man and showed it as he would innocently sit beside the young ladies who were visiting our home, claiming them as his own girlfriend. Initially this was much to the chagrin of his brothers, but it became his expected signature move.
Darren enriched his family’s lives with his love, humour and optimism teaching us how to love unconditionally and to be loved. We are all eternally grateful for his time with us.
A Celebration of Darren’s Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the Serenity Funeral Home in Spruce Grove (600 Calahoo Road).
