Sekulich, Linnae Dolores

Born to Vernon and Dolly Dyrland, Linnae was the youngest of 6 children – of which 4 survive her: Janice (Lawrence), Ellert (Cathy), Wade (Shannon) and Troy (Vera). After a 6 ½ year battle with MSA, this vibrant woman full of love and laughter passed away May 2, 2021 at the young age of 56 in Fort Saskatchewan at Rivercrest Care Centre. Linnae married Terry on December 10, 1988, and is survived by him and their two children, Alieda (Andrew) & Landon (Amanda). She is also survived by her honourable Mother, Dolly, numerous Aunts & Uncles, Cousins, Nephews and Nieces, Grandchildren, and many friends who are considered family.

Besides dancing and laughing beyond barriers, Linnae’s passion rested in whatever she was a part of. Whether it was working at the family run music studio in Sherwood Park, working with Terry on the wood pile; especially driving the bobcat, organizing parties for anniversaries & birthdays, putting together photo albums, or teaching people how to drive standard, Linnae invested all of her love and commitment.  She was an avid music lover, and just started painting. She was told by many that she had a natural talent for it. She didn’t believe them, but she enjoyed it anyway.

Linnae had an incredible gift of building relationships and honouring those in her life. There was always a natural pull towards Linnae when she was in the room, and her friendship will be a gift that is never forgotten – as her husband, Terry would agree. In a home full of love and music, Linnae reminded people that it was their home as well. It also encouraged her children to appreciate the same love of music, and the value of love – no matter where a person came from or what they went through. Whether you knew her as Buffalo, Tootie Bug, Auntie Gnay, or any other inside moment you had with Linnae, it meant the world to her.

Linnae’s Going Away Party will be held on Sunday, May 9th, 2021 at 2:30 pm from the cameras of Mount Olivet Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Jay Dyrland officiating. She will reside at Horse Butte Cemetery, near Zion Lutheran Church in Kyle, Saskatchewan. Her extended love is shown through her Pallbearers. 3 Godsons: Justin Dyrland, Jesse Dyrland, and Kristian Dyrland, will be supported by Nathan Dyrland – because he thinks he’s strong, and Vaughn Dyrland, Kalin Dyrland & Rory Dyrland – because they are strong. These words were chosen by Linnae, so we may continue to enjoy her infectious laughter and wit as we continue on. Her honorary Pallbearers forever standing close by will be the following: Mark Jimioff, Troy Dyrland, Wade Dyrland, Ellert Dyrland, Janice Dyrland, Laura Fraser, Kim Dyrland, Kane Dyrland, Devyn Dyrland, Christa Dyrland, Dustin Dyrland, Kelsey Dyrland, Wyatt Dyrland, & Codey Dyrland.

Linnae was an incredibly passionate woman who showed her emotions honestly. When she was sad, she cried. When she was happy, she laughed….and cried. When she was upset with you, she definitely cried. And when she wanted to deeply portray how much she loved you, well, she cried. In honour of Linnae and her ability to somehow plan and handpick everything for her own last party, all are invited to wear a splash of purple on the day of her celebration…and cry.
