SCHULTZ, Terri Lynne

It is with great sadness the family of Terri Schultz announces her sudden passing on August 19, 2020 of liver failure at the age of 68. She will be sadly missed by her mother Jean Loney; husband Duane; daughter Melanie McIntyre (Chris); brothers Ted (Joyce), Jeff (Cheryl) and half-brother David Smigelski (Debbie); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Robert Clelland.

Due to the current pandemic, there will be only a small private memorial.

Terri was a diabetic but also a huge animal lover. If desired, donations can be made in her name to the Alberta Diabetes Foundation and Edmonton Humane Society.

Terri was born and raised in Edmonton. At the age of 8, she and her younger brothers, Ted and Jeff, lost their father. Their mother eventually remarried and gave birth to another son, David. Terri completed high school and married Tom Thirlwell Terri, had a daughter Melanie, and eventually moved to the west coast of British Columbia. Terri and Tom eventually divorced, and Terri and Melanie moved back to the Edmonton area in 1987.

While working at Canadian Western Bank, Terri met Duane Schultz who was a customer and also supplied the bank with real estate appraisals. She had occasion to contact him on bank business in 2000, and they started dating that same year. They married several years later.

Notes:

Terri’s parents were both born in Edmonton. Her father’s name was Robert Clelland and mother’s maiden name was Loney. After divorcing Martin Smigelski, she went back to her maiden name.

Hi Duane,

I’m not sure you’re the Duane Schultz Brian Chipperfield and I (Hal Zoeller) made music with (back in the day). You played harmonica. If you are that Duane Schultz I would like to extend my condolences to you and your family.

Our lives were enriched by meeting Terri. She was always so warm and kind, and really made us feel special in any conversation or contact we had with her. She is missed. A bright light has left this world and we are weaker because of that.
