Crystal Schneider was born on April 12, 1956 in Barrhead, Alberta to Richard and Meta Korman. She grew up alongside her older brother Erwin on their family farm just outside of Barrhead in a home built by their father. Crystal loved growing up on the farm in the fresh country air. She spent her days baking and planting flowers and gardens with her mother, tending to animals on the farm with her father and always finding new adventures with her big brother.
After Crystal completed high school she ventured to Edmonton where she pursued a degree in nursing at the University of Alberta. She worked as a registered nurse for several years in the Edmonton area but would eventually move back to Barrhead where she was married to her husband Lorne in 1983. Crystal and Lorne shared an interest in real estate and together they embarked on an exciting journey into the world of property ownership.
Crystal’s true passion was motherhood. Her life would forever be changed with the births of her 3 children—Jonathan, Jennifer and Jason. Crystal dedicated her life to raising her children with unwavering love and it was clear that no mother could love her children more. Crystal embodied everything it meant to be a mother—she was kind, warm and nurturing. Crystal’s greatest accomplishment was watching her children grow to become extraordinary people; each one filled with love, compassion, confidence and strength.
Crystal is survived by her husband Lorne, her children Jonathan (Tanya), Jennifer (Wes) and Jason (Sierra), her older brother Dr. Erwin Korman (Cassie), her close cousin Phil Kormann (Corina) and his children Sabrina and Lucas, her nephews Michael and Matthew, her niece Christina, and her three grandchildren Avery, Colton and Kennedy as well as many other loving family members and friends.
Crystal was predeceased by her parents Richard and Meta Korman.
Crystal was taken from us too young. Her beautiful soul and an infectious smile will forever be missed but her legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren.
