Sandra Demers



On June 29, 2014 Sandra Demers passed away at the age of 66 years, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Lovingly remembered by her husband Ed of 40 years, three children: Randy (Linda), Teira (Anil), Regan (Sarah); grandchildren: Lisa, Cory, David (Tanya), Anastasia, Veronica, Austin, Anjelika and Madison; great grandchildren; Clark and Kathalina; three siblings: William (Jean), Donald (Laurie), Dennis (Kathy),
as well as many relatives and friends.

Sandra was predeceased by her parents Daisy (1953) and Alexander (1992); siblings: Lorna (1988), Alvin (2006) and Gordon (Skip) (2012).

Sandra and her family were very proud of her achievements. At the age of 58 years she graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Social Work. She was the founding member of AFDR (Alberta Foundation for Diabetes Research) and a recipient of the Canadian Volunteer Service award.

The family would like to thank the staff at Capital Care Norwood for all their care and compassion shown to Sandra.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2014 between 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm, at the Chateau Louis Hotel, 11727 Kingsway NW, in the St. Michael’s Conference Room, Edmonton, AB. Inurnment will take place in Debolt, Alberta.

I am so sorry for your loss ma. She is up in heaven with my parents playing cards having laughs and telling jokes 🙂 I remember that time at the mall when I called her grandma and gave her a hug and she looked at me like ” Who the heck are you ” Haha too funny. I also miss her evil eye when you said something she didnt like:) haha. Sandra ( grandma) Such a beautiful woman, You can rest now and be happy your in a nice place now. Everything will be fine down here you have your beautiful strong daughter my ma teira taking care of things R.I.P xoxo


I miss you so much mom. Everyday it gets harder and harder without you here. You are forever my hero for the strength you had and never let cancer show in your daily tasks and always kept a smile on your face. I love you so much!!
