It is with much sadness and much love that we say goodbye to our beloved Husband, Dad and Grandfather, who left us on Feb 2, 2019 at the age of 89 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Phyllis, children Roxy, Rhona, Randall (Susan), grandchildren, Chantelle, Jordan, Breana (Nick) and Brandon, nephew Fred Haselgruber, nieces Denise (Adrian) Fowler and Eva Flacher, as well as extended family and many friends will remember him. He was predeceased by his parents Rupert and Apollonia Haselgruber and his brother Fred and sisters Erna Gaugl and Margareta Fruhwirth.
While working full time, Rupert, designed and built his dream Miquelon Hills Golf Course and opened in 1975 where he made many life long friends. He was up to any task or job including mechanic, electrician and was a general jack-of-all-trades. With his learned skills, he also designed and built his family home.
Rupert was born in Austria on Jan 24, 1930 and moved to Canada after the war.
Rupert loved travelling, photography; he was an avid soccer player (goalie), loved the news, discussing WWII and playing cards with his family and friends.
Memorial donations in Rupert’s honour may be made directly to Parkinson’s Foundation.
A celebration of life will be at Miquelon Hills Golf Course at a date to be determined.
