Ruby Lois Lorraine (Kroening) Judin was born in Coronation, Alberta on August 29, 1936. She was taken by the Lord, her Savior on the morning of Wednesday, October 25th, 2017 after her final battle with cancer.
Mom started school in Riverdale, Edmonton and moved to a farm near Lashburn with many happy memories of her parents and sisters until 1944. She finished her schooling in Rutland, BC and then returned to Lloydminster, where she met the love of her life, Fred. They were married in 1956 and raised six children. These were the good years she recalls when life was busy supporting family events, children’s activities and sports. Mom belonged to many organizations from Dale Carnegie, CGIT, Golden Valley Women’s Club, church choirs, bible studies and the Cancer Board. She enjoyed playing hockey goalie for the girl’s team, skiing, cake decorating, sewing, craft sales, gathering the bounty from the huge garden, baking with the grandkids and babysitting. She was manager of Rental Properties and co-owned the business, Celebration House in Lloydminster. Mom was also a speaker and chairperson for Christian Women’s Club and actively involved in leading various church groups. She was always organized and had time to do the things she enjoyed.
Mom and dad also had ample opportunities to travel – from the Caribbean and Hawaii; Yellowknife to Michigan; Vancouver Island to Mexico. Mom will always be remembered as a mentor, a Christian woman who loved blueberries, dark chocolate and singing.
She is predeceased by her son Dan (Jennifer) and sister Margaret and leaves to mourn her husband of 61 years, Fred; daughters Lorrie (Ric) Morales; Karen (Lyle) Corpe; Peggy Greenfield; sons Tim and Jason (Anne) and her grandsons, Drawsen, Darren, Josh, Ty, Evan, Connor, Lucas and Cody; her granddaughters, Meghan, Shae and Meredith; as well as seven great grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her two sisters Gladys and Jeanne (Bob) and countless relatives and friends from many walks of life.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Trinity Baptist Church in Sherwood Park, Alberta (22550 Township 530 Road) on Monday, October 30th, 2017 at 1 pm.
Memorial donations may be made to Agape Hospice, Calgary or Alberta or Canadian Cancer Society in Ruby’s memory.
