To Penny and family,
I was shocked to see the notice of Darcy’s passing. So young!! I remember him as a bright-eyed, happy little boy who always loved to play with my Husky, Mik, whenever I’d come to visit in Hinton. My sincerest condolences to the family.

When someone we LOVE dies I believe our hearts break. the pain is raw and searing. As time goes by it gets stitched up A laugh, a wonderful memory, a smell or a sound, a hug. This happens slowly and as each stitch puts our hearts back together we are reminded of the joy and love of our dear one. Kim, Curtis, Kassie and Marley my deepest sympathy. Darcy was a joy to have known.

To Kim and all the family.
What a shock to hear the news that Darcy was gone.

Notes of heart felt memories and stories shared of
time spent with Darcy let us all see what an incredible
person he was.

The days ahead may seem impossible. Hold tight to
memories for comfort, lean on friends for strength
and always remember how much you are cared about.

Our heart goes out to you.

Saying goodbye isn’t for me. Instead, I will say that I look forward to seeing Darcy again, each time I am reminded of him through a phrase, a joke, even an article about so many of life’s interesting topics that we shared in common. These are the things that will keep us close despite our distance. Rest well my friend.

I had the pleasure of many cruises around town and to many parties with Darcy, his laughter and funny jokes were always the life of the party. He will be truly missed and will not be forgotten. Hugs to you Kim and the family he leaves behind.

Once again, something tragic happens to show a person how short and precious life really is. In life there are people that influence and teach you and grow with you. Most are family, but if you look back there’s always a person or two that were friends or peers that were just a bit more influential than others. Darcy you were that to me. It hurts so very deep that I never got to tell you what you did and what you meant to me. Growing up is never easy, but when we became friends my life changed. From the parties at your house to know that I was always welcome there when things weren’t good at my house. To the camping trips. Ya sleeping on lawn chairs drunk by the fire at bear lake. To the chicken hunting and getting the truck stuck. Multiple times. To the chasing each other and pushing each other to be the best we could be on the slopes of Marmot basin. Oh and maybe chasing a girl or two. To one of my final memories just a couple years ago riding our motorcycles down the hwy heading west into the sunset, finishing the night off with beers on your deck. You will never know how much you changed my life and so much of who I was as a young man and what I’ve become today was because of you. And as anyone that has had the opportunity to meet you or been touch by you will know the wonderful kind heart you have. Rest easy my friend. Till we ski those heavenly slopes together one day. Love you brother. And sending hugs and love to Kim and the kids. . Oh and I still hate whiskey. But I’ll be having a couple for you buddy.

I was so lucky to have found such great neighbours when I moved to SG. But I was even more fortunate to have developed a trusting friendship with all of you. Darcy was a great guy and we will all miss him dearly. May he find peace in heaven, and may you all be comforted by the memories you have made with Darcy. ❤️
