It is with great sadness that the family of Rose Rossi Persechino announces her passing on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the wonderful, grand age of 96 years. Rose is fondly remembered by her daughter Angelina Persechino [Gino Fallone], grandchildren Alexia [Cuong], Clara, and Joey-Michael, and her sister Evelyn Scerbo. She will be forever remembered by numerous sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, countless friends and more. Rose is pre-deceased by her loving husband Michele, and her sisters Angelina, Mary, Nanny, Ida, and her brother Tony.
Rose was born to Vincenzo Rossi and Elisa Persechino on December 23, 1922 in Montreal Quebec. She married Michele Persechino on September 22, 1951 and their daughter Angelina was born later. In 1999, she moved to Edmonton, Alberta with her daughter and immediate family. Throughout her life, Rose is remembered as a fun-loving, caring and loyal daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. She truly had an adorable personality. She loved everything Italian, music, food (especially chocolate…), knitting, crocheting, and spending time with family and friends. She had special love for dogs, her face lit up for them nearly as much as it did for chocolate!! Rose was famous for her lemon meringue pies and her bright mind and quick wit. Her grandchildren can vouch she was a fantastic grandmother, showering them with gifts and good old-fashioned talk and wisdom throughout her life. During the last 5 and a half years of her life, Rose lived at the Good Samaritan Society Southgate in Edmonton. Rose’s family would like to thank all of the caregivers, staff, nurses and doctors that helped her at this time of her life and brought joy to her late years. Rose died peacefully with her family and surrounded by cherished friends. She will be forever missed by all who knew her.
A mass will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Serenity Funeral Service North Chapel, 10129 – Princess Elizabeth Avenue, Edmonton.
