Ronald William Misener

Ron was born in Manitoba and moved to Calgary at an early age. As a young man Ron’s love for sports was clear. He was a great hockey player and star quarterback in high school. Ron began his career in Calgary in 1978 at Bridge Brand (now Gordon Food Service) where he dedicated his next 39 years. His career helped shape his life’s journey, leading him to Red Deer where his son Jason was born in 1983. When Bridge Brand opened an office in Edmonton in 1984, Ron followed. He met Rosalie the following year and they married in 1991. Dayna was born the following year.

Sports were always a passion in Ron’s life. Ron’s proudest moments were coaching his kids in sports as they grew up. Ron always cheered on the Oilers and Eskimos, taking in many home games with Rosalie and Dayna. Later in life Ron loved playing golf and curling and was a dedicated member in the men’s league for both sports for many years. Ron loved exploring and traveling, taking many tropical trips with Rosalie. Always the life of the party, Ron loved being surrounded by great friends and family creating many laughs and memories. He will be deeply missed.

Tribute wall - a place to share your memories and condolences

Stu Sinclair

So sad to hear this news. I played many years of hockey with Ron growing up as a kid in Southwest Calgary. I remember how good a hockey player he was and an even better person to be around. My condolences to the entire family.
