With deep sadness the family of Ronald James Clark announces his passing, at the age of 92, on Wednesday, October 17, 2018.
He is survived by his daughters Wendy Lloyd (Bob) of Seattle and Kathy Smart (Wes) of Edmonton, his grandchildren Matt, Sean, Katie, Lauren and Robyn and their families, including two great grandchildren Finn and Pia. Ron was excited about the upcoming birth of two more great grandchildren in Seattle.
He missed Mary, his wife and partner of 67 years. She predeceased him in 2014.
Ron was known widely in the Edmonton community and beyond, and had many rich life pursuits. He was a longstanding, devoted member of the Grace United Church. He started his work life as a meteorologist in Canada’s far north, later to turn to personnel administration with a long career in the Alberta government, becoming the Director of Personnel for the Province, only later to serve as a member of the Workers Compensation Board. He was a committed, zealous golfer, the longest standing member of the Highlands Golf Club at his death. Ron was above all else a true gentleman, unwavering in his dedication to family and friends. He will be sorrowfully missed.
A Memorial Service will be held in Ron’s honour, at Grace United Church, 6215 – 104 Ave NW, Edmonton, on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the U of A Hospital Foundation, the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra or Grace United Church.
