Roland Camille Gamache


GAMACHE, Roland Camille it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, dad and grandfather, Roland Gamache.Roland was born August 7, 1928. He married Lena Labonté on August 16, 1950. They had five children, Doris (Andy) Isbister, Joanne, Roger (Pat), Paul, and Lynne (Rob) Maltby. Roland also had 11 grandchildren, Marc (Megan) Isbister, Michael (Jen) Isbister, Michelle (Todd) Wakal, Jill (Scott) Tansowny, Danielle Gamache (James Macarthur), Angela (Adam) Chessor, Lisa (Chad) Meda, Chantelle Gamache, Elaine Gamache, Daniel Maltby and Adam Maltby; as well as five great-grandchildren. He was very proud of his family. He also leaves to mourn his loss, his sister Yvonne (André) Rouleau, many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his infant daughter Joanne, his sister Florence and brother Adrien.Roland established Roland’s Jewelry 65 years ago and was proud of his service to Fort Saskatchewan for the past 60 years. Until his illness in February, Roland rarely missed a day of work. The family would like to thank the staff of the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Unit 44 and the Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital for their kind and compassionate care during Roland’s illness.With gratitude, anyone wishing to make a donation in Roland’s memory may do so to the Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital Foundation, Room 1C-012, 9401 – 86 Avenue, Fort Saskatchewan, AB, T8L 0C6 or the Fort Saskatchewan Fish & Game Club, Box 3038, Fort Saskatchewan, AB, T8L 2T1.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, 10004 – 101 Street, Fort Saskatchewan at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013.
