Rodney Urkevich
1990 – 2015
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Rodney Darren Urkevich on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the age of 25 years. Rodney had a deep love of music, and was an extremely talented musician – especially comfortable with the guitar, banjo and harmonica. Rodney had a large circle of wonderful friends made throughout the years – from his school peers to his team mates from hockey, and to all he was fortunate to call a colleague at work. Rodney will be incredibly missed and lovingly remembered by his parents, Sandra and Darren; brother, Chad (Alice) Dumont; gramma, Lynne Urkevich, as well as several extended family and many great friends and co-workers. Rodney was predeceased by his grampa, Mike Urkevich. The Urkevich family extends their invitation to celebrate Rodney’s life at Life Church, 5115 50 Avenue, Drayton Valley on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Interment to follow at Riverview Cemetery. In honour of Rodney, memorial contributions may be directed to the Canadian Mental Health Association – Edmonton Region, 300-10010 105 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta T5J 1C4 or by visiting www.edmonton.cmha.ca

We were so sorry to hear of Rodney’s passing. I have been thinking back to the days so long ago when he was my little visitor during the week, such a precious little guy. Watching the slideshow at the memorial and hearing the stories, made me see what a special person he had become. I wish I could have stayed long enough today to let you know we are thinking of you all and that our hearts go out to you Darren, Sandy and your family during this time.
