ROBERTSON, John Kenneth (Ken)

It is with heavy hearts and much love that we say goodbye to our father, grandfather, and great grandfather John Kenneth (Ken) Robertson who passed away peacefully, on May 10, 2022, at the age of 88 years.

Ken will be forever remembered by his sister Edith (Teadie) Scaife of New Minas, NS and his children Michael (Moyra), Deborah (Kim) and Clark. Grandchildren Angella (Jonathan), Adam, and Elizabeth (Tim). Great grandchildren Hayden, Quinton, Carter, Pierce, and Ivy.

Ken was predeceased by his wife Margaret, his sister Barbara (Robertson) Reid and his parents Thomas Clark “Robbie” and Evelyn (Mitchell) Robertson.

As a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force, Ken dedicated his life to the service of Canada with loyalty and distinction. During the course of his 37+ year career as a Radar Technician (working in the big white domes), he and his family traversed the country multiple times setting up a new home in at least 15 different locations. He rose through the ranks from Private to Chief Warrant Officer, culminating with his appointment as the Station CWO CFS Barrington, in Nova Scotia. In 1987, he was invested as a member to the Order of Military Merit for his exceptional service throughout his distinguished career. Ken was also an avid curler and, in his early military years enjoyed playing baseball on the local team.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Munsamy, Dr. Larue, and all the nurses of the palliative care team for their kindness, compassion, and unwavering support.

As per Ken’s wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no service.

John and Pat Mullowney

Our sincere condolences, Pat and I will miss both Marg and Ken. We had great family times with them when they lived here in NS. Our girls still remember Marg dressing up as a cheerleader while we had a family basketball game outside at Thanksgiving. Take care.

It is with deep sadness that I heard of Kens passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. God bless and keep you all strong at this very hard time.
