It is with sadness that we share the passing of Bob Code, who lost his journey with Alzheimer’s disease on January 30, 2016. Diagnosed at age 58, Bob faced his fate with dignity and courage. Later in the disease, Rommel Tiquia provided exceptional care for Bob, guiding him with compassion, allowing Bob to maintain that dignity. Rommel’s love for Bob was a constant blessing.
Bob was born in Wilke, Saskatchewan on November 1, 1946, the only son of Leona and Walter Code. Bob grew up in Unity, received his Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan, spending many years in financial roles. He retired in 2007 after a lengthy career with the Wheaton Group of Companies as Chief Financial Officer.
In recent years it has been difficult to witness the advance of Alzheimer’s as it gradually deprived Bob of his ability to embrace people and the things he loved so much. Bob was a true gentleman, we imagine him now with memory intact, embracing life.
Bob is survived by his wife Joyanne; mother-in-law Joy Moker; brothers-in-law: Lloyd Earl, Gordon Moker, and their families; numerous Sherwood and Code cousins particularly Kathy King; Mity and Rommel Tiquia.
We thank family and friends for their constant love and support on our journey.
A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be scheduled in the Spring.
Donations in Bob’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Northern Alberta, 10531 Kingsway Avenue, Edmonton AB T5H 4K1.
