It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we say good-bye to a sweet, caring and kind man. Robert Victor D’Eath, 88 years of age, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2015. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Bob was born March 25, 1927 in Calgary, AB. He was the first born son of Christian Victor and Dorothy Lily joining his sister Christina and then to follow his brother Peter and younger sister Pamela. Bob attended Crescent Heights High School and in the summer months played football and could often be found diving into the Bow River off of the Louise Bridge. On August 16, 1952 Bob married Doris Gwendolyn McDonald. He often said she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. In 1962 Bob accepted a position with the Alberta Motor Association and along with his wife and two children transferred to Edmonton, AB. Bob retired as the Regional Manager of AMA in 1992 after 30 years which allowed him to concentrate on his passion, the game of golf. Bob moved back to Calgary in 1995, and several years later returned to Edmonton where he met and married his second wife and loving companion Margaret Dorene Kristensen. The last 11 years with Dorene were filled with fun, laughter and love. Bob’s greatest pride and joy were his children, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Right up until he became ill he never missed a school concert, sporting event or dance recital.
He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Dorene; devoted daughter, Lonee (Rocky) Maze; daughter-in-law, Lois D’Eath: grandchildren: Jerrid (Amber), Jennifer (Mark), Meagan (Derek), Kristen (Chris); great grandchildren: Abigail, Julian, Jaxton; and sisters: Christina and Pamela (Michael). He was predeceased by his first wife of 43 years Doris Gwendolyn; son Robert “Terry”; brother Peter and his mother and father.
His family will celebrate his life and interment with a private gathering at Eden Brook Cemetery in Calgary, AB. In lieu of flowers, and if so desired, memorial tributes may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
